I want to see guys like you retire and walk out the door while you have screwed your buds in the past.

And Rock, we currently fund our own retirement with a 401K. I put the max every year into it. I put close to 30K a year into retirement. You seem to keep missing the point. This TA isn't about money. Its about a fix to make our retirement have the same value now, that it will have in the future. Our retirement should have a simple COLA. Is it that hard to understand? Maybe you are right. We make too much. We shouldn't have what we have fought for or earned.
Nice personal attack. Mind posting your initials and seat position, so I can make sure I never fly with you.

Hmm, not sure if that is a compliment or an insult, but hey, I'll take it.

I married very well. Not going to trade this one in, ever.

Personal attack? Rock has been posing on here for days. You don't agree with my post? Get off of APC if you don't like the comments. You need thicker skin if you are going to read stuff here. Try Delta and United forums. Its the same stuff. You want my intials, ss, give me yours. Fine, if you aren't smart enough of figure out that this place is just opinion veiled behind animosity, you are a fool.

Remove all of the extra she provides from your monthly income and retirement planning and tell me how well off you are. Some of us have wives that don't work or can't work outside of the home!

Not to ruin the mood, but now might be the time for a group hug.

Just sayin....in a couple of days, we need to all be speaking with one voice. If the TA is voted in, we need to ensure it isn't interpreted in a way that hurts us, due to fuzzy contractual language. If it is voted down, then we should listen to good old Ben Franklin, "We must all hang together, or assuredly we will all hang separately."

If it is voted in the company will interpret it any way they damn well please and there is very little any of us can do about it! That is why the contract language is so important.

I agree about the contract language, which is why I changed from a yes voter, to a no voter.

However, I believe at this point we aren't going to change anyone's mind. And if it does get voted in, we need to not accept, "This is our interpretation of this area," while doing nothing. We need to call attention, grieve, call the union---sounds hopeless, but when enough people make noise, it's got to help.

In all honesty, it is very little. A. She is part time. B. Her profession pays poorly even if she were full time. She works now because she likes her job. Without her income our retirement would change very very little. But because of the job she did in our house when she wasn't working, our kids aren't costing us much as they grow older, and one of the best retirement investments anyone can make...she is my one and only wife. So in short, her financial contribution to our retirement is insignificant compared to her non-financial contribution. Which is huge.

I guess you prefer to depend on someone else to manage your life and finances. Your choice and good luck.
