I'm sure you're smart enough to figure out the plus side of DH trips for commuters. It's less about the actual DH and more about door to door limo service, FF miles, First class lounges/tickets, paid commutes, staying home day one of a two-day DH or getting home a day or two early while still on the clock, no cars in domicile, crash pads or commuter hotels.
Yep. I always thought the cycle of aviation went:

1. Paying to fly.
2. Getting paid to fly.
3. Getting paid to NOT fly.

I'm all about maximizing number 3 on that list.

And sweet double DH charters go a long ways toward that.

I have given it the old college try, but I always see the same usual suspects on these trips. Frustrating to say the least.

I like to fly, but momma and the kids cannot go on a FedEx flight. The miles accrued give our family a chance to get a taste of the "regular" airline life--i.e. travel around the world. The Hoodlum girls that were terrorizing DB and LKF over Christmas all came over on miles...many acquired while I was still an -11 FO.

Not much to say about the WP except that is A) makes me lose faith in those guys and B) makes me lose faith in flight management for not finding a way to nullify the process. (How about: all charters drop into open time at pre-determined and publicly announced time).

Thing is Check, he's right. But race of the pilots involved is immaterial. It's their behavior and attitudes that need adjusting!

I'm curious. Is there a new rule prohibiting the posting of rumors? Does posting a rumor make the poster a racist?

Hate the overuse of the race card as much as anyone but come on, Tony.
The act of posting the rumor isn't what Check was referring to, it was the content of the rumor. i.e. The members, rumored to be minorities, are receiving special treatment in that they aren't being pursued for fear of offending the PC police. That entire rumor hinges on race.
I don't care one way or the other but I think you know that Check isn't referring to the simple posting of a rumor.

So if the rumor is true it would still be racist?

When did minority = race?

It seems to me like some folks are making broad assumptions in accusing people of racism. Is that not racism?

That is a relevant question. If something is a fact, does it make one racist to state the fact? Or must people bend to political correctness to not appear racist?

However, I think one has to be pretty careful when posting rumors about specific people on a public forum. I'd have to be absolutely certain it were true. Otherwise it's not fair to those incriminated.

I have to wonder about this entire wolfpack issue. Every now and then I look at MD-11 open time just for the heck of it, and sometimes see an international charter. You don't see that on the bus. Unless it's a rare, short charter, it just doesn't exist. I can see how a group of people constantly checking open time, having a good idea of when charters usually drop into the system, clearing their schedule to be available, having PMU often, and picking things up for friends, could end up with some sweet schedules.

Five minutes. If I had access to their button pushes, I could tell you what was going on in five minutes. Seems the company could figure it out in maybe ten minutes, if they wanted to.
