Default Soft Token Problem

Anybody having a problem installing the Soft Token on their iPhone? I follow the instructions but after I paste in the code to activate it I get, "This identity cannot be activated on an unsecured device." Called the help number and they were useless, "Must be a problem with your phone."

Anyone have any ideas (other than, "it works OK on my phone."

Specifics are: iPhone 5C, ios 9.3.1, yes I have a PIN to secure the phone.

Any help will be greatly appreciated and I will forward anything that works back to the help desk since, apparently, I wasn't the first caller with this problem.

I don't remember what the message I got, but I had a problem at step 9 (tap on the UPC code and paste in the instructions), because I wasn't following the instructions on the iPad exactly, I started looking at the phone instructions. At that point I needed to ignore the phone instructions and actually tap on that large UPC code, wait for the prompt, then enter the password. Probably not your problem, but I suggest that you try the entire process again, if you haven't already, and do exactly what it says. Hopefully you never opened up the app after you installed it.

Is your phone jailbroken or modified to accept non-authorized apps?

It may have been after I first got it, but since they've put in the "Personal Hotspot" for data sharing it's no longer jail broken. I just update it with IOS when Apple tells me to. Maybe the Gods are telling me to get another new iPhone. It has been almost 2 years.

Ha, nice try for a new phone, but maybe they can help you at the Apple Store.

If it was ever jailbroken, it may still have some remnants. One thing you could try is to completely restore the phone to factory and then reload it. If you reload from backup, you may get the same problem though.

That was exactly the issue. It's nice to know we have resources with answers on this board when the company "experts" can't help. Thanks.

I have the EXACT same problem ... but on a Samsung S5. Called the help line ... they said someone will call me back. I'd hate to have to do a complete reset and build back up.

Any Droid users out there? How did it go for you?

Used SuperSU to do a full unroot but custom ROM remnants (and some functions I assume) were still present. Root checker resulted in a 'Not Rooted' message, but Entrust still would not load. Removed the custom ROM and flashed the factory ROM again. Works fine, but I gave up too much functionality (carrier and manufacturer bloatware, data throttling, & restricted hot-spot), so I went back to the root. In the meantime will have to get that keychain thingy from the company when I get to the planet later this week. I do have an app guy I know trying a couple of workarounds. We will see, but I am not holding out much hope. I guess you could also use the company iPad, but not being an Apple guy I am really not sure.

You would think we were guarding national secrets.

Ya ... I'm on the edge of going to the Hard Token too. I can see the use of the Soft token, but dont want to unroll my phone. Thanks for info and reply.
