Default Reserve trip assignment

So I know a 76 pilot can be used for 75 trips but can a 75 pilot be assigned a 76 trip if the equipment is a 75?

Before I made the jump to the 767 bidpack, I had it happen 4 times off of reserve. I might have even been the first to do it, as I got a 767 bidpack trip to BFM on the second day of the first month the 767 had a bidpack. The $35 or so per CH override showed up automatically.

Default Don't hold your breath

I've seen this happen at least a dozen times. 76 bid pack trip but scheduled on a 75, and the other crew calls in sick. 75 reserve is called, but his pairing shows as an extra with a different pairing #. He is paid 75 rates, and I'm paid 76. Told them all to grieve it, but the company feels if the pairing # isn't in the bid pack, then it isn't a 76 trip. Thus no WB pay for those guys.

But, I thought the contract guys were going to close all these loop holes?

You mean we didn't fix this in negotiations?

In case you haven't figured it out, if you are on the 757 MEM, you get screwed over and over. And we let it happen because it is in our contract. There's no plan to fix these zingers because the sentiment of this crew force is "I've paid my dues, so should you" ... "I spent 10 years on the panel" ... "but if we try to fix the 757 issues, we'll have to give up XYZ."

Best plan is to gain seniority and avoid the 757 unless you're happy with a particular city you can hold.

IF he had been trained on the 767. And only the LDS, not the "classic".

If it is a 76 trip in a 76 bid pack and a 75 guy gets assigned from reserve he will be paid 76 pay rate. No 76 training required. Now if the company is building extra an 75 pairing from what used to be 76 trips it is up to us to grieve this.

I don't believe the 76 LOA differentiates between classic and LDS.
