General questions
Hi, I have a few easy questions about flexjet but I dont know anyone that works there now:
Does flexjet have dispatchers, or does the crew file everything themselves? I presume all flights come and go from FBOs, not passenger terminals, is that correct? Would it be difficult for a new-hire to work 2-week blocks? or is the 7-8 day rotation mandatory? In your opinion, is Flexjet a decent place to put down roots as a career? I have 20 flying years left in me and I'm looking for a forever home. Thanks! |

They are not certified like the 121 world, so the PIC must still review everything and make changes as needed, especially fuel planning. - We always go into and out of the FBO's only. Signature's are the #1 and will use others if there is not a Signature on the field. The clients also get to choose where they want to be picked up and dropped off if there are multiple FBO's on the field. The only time you'll see an airline terminal is when you are coming to the plane or going home after your rotation is done. - Not difficult, but you'll need to ask management to approve the longer tours. I personnaly know 2 FO's that are currently on 15/13 schedules. They might be a special case, but it does happen. - The last one is really a personal decision and based on what you want when you take off your wings for the final time. I'm here for the long haul and have no interest in jumping back to a 121 operation, so for me it works. Could the retirment options be a little better (401k match specifically), sure, but it's certainly better than most non-flying jobs out there that I could be stuck working at...lol! |
I'm sorry for asking out of the blue.
Does RED LINE allow for family-based teams? I sometimes think it would be great to have a family team of four with my three sons. |

I appreciate your response. I wonder if ILC also operates in teams of three with a designated leader."

Do you mean Domestic Red Label? Teams consists of three captains assigned to a specific tail number aircraft. The FOs are floaters and aren't part of the teams. Team members workout their own schedules to maintain 24/7 aircraft coverage.
Thanks. |

Why are the FO’s floaters vs having the same options as the Red Label CA’s.

How about fatigue?
Up to 14 hour days, ~3 legs a day, no days off on the road... That sounds pretty agressive. Do y'all feel like you're working too hard? Or perhaps with all those hours, you get some overtime bump over base pay to make it feel worth it? |
