I will live 4 hours from DFW after I retire. How hard is it to commute or be ready on go day? Will they require me to be closer? Crashpad? I am just looking at all my fractioanl options for when I retire. I am 30 minutes from SAT, 1 hour from AUS, and 3 hours or so from IAH.

FWIW, they called me last year and she asked which base I live closest to. I told her FLL. I live in Central Florida. She said it was too far away, and asked if I would be willing to move. I said not at this time. maybe if they get a 7/7, the distance might be relaxed a little. I don't think a 2.5 - 3.0 drive is much if they have the 7/7 someday. good luck.

Thats what I thought. Looks like it will be NJ as number one choice and CS as number two as they both have SAT bases. I am looking for a job that I can spend the rest of my flying career at. Pay is important but not the number one decision maker. I will have nearly 25 years of active duty when I retire and my wife makes more than me. So what I am looking for is stability as far as the company is concerned and quality of life. I am going to live where I want to live and will not move for a job.
Push comes to shove, i'll work in the plumbing department at the local Home Depot and be happy.

I have some of the highlights, HOWEVER, there is a paragraph in it saying it is confidential. So I guess we'll have to wait until one of the "founders" can get the full "skinny" from Flexjet. Sorry!

Pretty close. Expect Lear captain 2-3 years, Challenger captain 7-8 years after first getting hired. This might edge up over the next couple of years.
