Flex just annouced that they are hiring 35 - 40 Pilots for the remainder of the year. Next year the hiring is going to be increased even more due to the delivery of 13 new Challenger 300s. PM me for Details

Can anyone tell me what your schedule/lifestyle is like working for a fractional such as Flex Jet?

Flex is still accepting resumes, but I believe that they will not be hiring until the new year. QOL is far better then that at the regionals, but you are limited to 4 gateways( EWR,DFW,ONT,FLL). If your a first year FO the best city to live in would be Dallas, because of cost, but I personally am not a big Dallas fan. First year base pay is about 35K add in overtime and per diem adn it comes closer to 40k. I know what some people are going to say, per diem is not pay, but we are fed by the company so you able to save your per diem. Attrition right now is high because of hiring by SW, JB, and corporate companies. You will fly a lot. Typcial schedule is 6on 4off. If your coming from a 135 or a regional, I think that this is a better choice, but if you have a choice between Netjets, Citation Shares, or Flexjet, I think the other two would be better choices, especially with the new TA. Flexjet pilots are some of the best I've ever flown with and it is hard to find a tool. My biggest issue with them currently is the scheduling system that they utilize and the lack of knowledge concerning the FOM by the schedulers. This is a honest assessment and take it at face value. My best advice would be to get an interview and go in with an open mind, weighing your options.

Current mins:

2500TT
500 multi
500 turbine

they are not flexible on the mins because the owners have a contract with Flex saying that both pilot must have these qualification.

Sorry if I haven't gotten back to those that have PM'd me but I haven't logged on in quite some time.

Good luck

Guys-

Is Flex still interviewing?

What are the hiring into?

I have:
ATP
2700TT
2300Multi
2100Turbine
BE400 Type
Also some LRtime but plenty of RJ time.

Do I stand a chance?

Thanks

you have the mins, but do you really want to go to flex as opposed to getting something that is going to offer you more. Netjets, or a company that runs a 400 might be a better choice because you already have a type rating. Just a thought.

Rogue

Thanks for the input, but I'd like to get away from the 400. I'd like to find something a bit more updated like the 45 or CL-300, that's why I'm looking. There are plus and minuses wherever you look.

I can tell you for a fact that Flexjet is still hiring. I have a good friend that has been with them for about 5 years and says he likes it. He also told me last week that their was an internal memo from the Chief Pilot at the dal base, giving his home, personnel pager, and cell number if anyone knew or had any friends that would be interested in flying for them to call and fax their resume directly to him. I am currently at a small 135 company in Houston and just lost one of my FO's to them quicker than I have ever seen. He faxed his resume in on Monday was called thursday interviewed following Tuesday and was leaving me that next Thursday. He told me the process was actually very friendly and they gave him his choice of equipment.

What I wouldn't give to fly a Lear 60. I've heard they accelerate like a fighter...
