And with the PBS (preferential bidding system) they currently use, expect to work 3 weekends per month.

With the company now accepting the New CBA and Intergrated Senority List we are all now One Sky pilots so new hires will probably start coming to the Phenom 300 and the Lears. A lot of Phenom pilots and CX pilots have been crossing over from the former Flight Options side into the SIC positions on the Challenger 300 and EMB 450’s while holding their pay. |
And remember, unless you live in one of the six primary bases, you can be put on an 8 on, 4 off schedule. Those bid lines are green at ALL satellite bases.

Like someone is going to bid that, come on dude.

OK, THAT is a showstopper.... During the video interview, she didnt really explain how the PBS system worked. They painted the picture that you can bid whatever you wanted. 8/6 would be perfect....but not 8/4. The aircraft they said they are hiring into are: Embraer Legacy 450, Challenger 350 and Lear 75. So can someone explain how exactly they DO bid and generate your schedule? Thanks! |

And I forgot that the company didn't put out a seniority list for over a year. Wonder why? 139 have left since February 2016. The list was at 673 then, so that equals over 20% of the pre-merger pilot group.

You just get the illusion of bidding. Expect to work 3 out of 4 weekends per month, and holidays.
QOL is the driving factor here. I really dont care what I'm flying and I expect to work when I'm at work, but having something set (8/6, 15/13) is really important. I get the feeling that the bidding is like 121 world and I dont want that. Sorry for the noob questions and I appreciate the help! |
The most common schedule through PBS is 6/4 no matter what you bid. If you want 7/7 or 8/7 you most likely will be able to get that since I figure most will want PBS due to the abysmal pay associated with the fixed schedules.
The PBS is not a true PBS and is very flawed in the way the company runs it and manipulates it. You can bid 1000 lines (not kidding) with a rank of 25 and still not get any line that you bid for, especially if you are trying to get less than 6 day rotations. Even if you are outside of the primary bases you are very unlikely to get an 8/4 schedule. If you're willing to work 18 day bid periods then you most likely will get holidays or important dates off. Also, SD is really good and will work with you to help you out with a day off you need. |
