It doesn't work like that. You have to wait until your seniority number comes up, just like everyone else.

Obviously they don't hire street Captains like Executive Airshare.

wmuflyboy 01-26-2014 06:02 PM

What are guys/gals getting hired at time wise?

IFlyFL410 01-27-2014 02:21 AM

I'm not privy to the resumes being submitted but I would imagine the guys getting hired are well north of the minimum of 2,500. An ATP is also required.

Kyjetpilot00 01-27-2014 06:56 AM

Flexjet hiring ?

They weigh heavy on internal recommendations!

How about 25,000?

So long as you're tolerable on the road for six days. : )

Not to sound needy, or whiny, but I have always wanted to work for Flex . Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the resume looked at? I don't have anyone I know at the company, but used to manage the line at an FBO that Flex visited a lot. I have always been impressed by the crews that come in. Very friendly. I really want to get noticed and have a chance at an interview, but don't know anyone. I am currently in a 121 and have over the mins. I have more corporate background that airline and love that side of flying a lot more! Any help/advice would be highly appreciated!

Your position should be "wishing for a LR-45 seat..." :D ;)

You would be correct! Long time since I even looked at that. Corrected....;)

SB, the off the street hiring has been halted while they call furloughs from Flight Options. Did you apply in August when the window first opened? I know a few people without recs that were called with flight times in the 3000-3500 range. I'd try to network with some of their pilots if you get the chance. Good luck!

Roper92, thanks for the input. Unfortunately I didn't get my app in until recently. Long story, but had just started my current job after the last corp job shut down. I didn't know they were hiring at the time because I was wrapped up in training here. I am just over those times you mentioned, so I will keep working on finding a way into Flex. Thanks again.

Packrat 01-27-2014 03:52 PM

Flex has been advertising for F/Os since November. Perhaps that's just to build up a backlog of resumes to have people to choose from. I was a bit disappointed that they weren't looking at street hires.

Once the FlOps pool dries up, hopefully they'll start looking at us street guys.

Fingers crossed.

IlliniPilot99 02-10-2014 11:27 AM

any updates? how are the Fltops pilots doing?

dirtysidedown 02-10-2014 01:28 PM

I did phone interview back in November, they said they would contact me for either an interview date of a nay if they were not interested. I have not heard back from them since then, a bit unproffesional if you ask me.

Dutch1 02-11-2014 06:55 AM

Thursday, February 13 is a company wide meeting. Hopefully we will know a little more at that time.

I'm tuned in, what's the word?

Dutch1 02-13-2014 02:45 PM

Nothing was said about hiring going forward. No staff reduction was the only thing I got out of it.

IFlyFL410 02-13-2014 03:55 PM

Yeah, not a lot to announce. Mostly organizational stuff. Which airplanes are going where and when. Not a lot of growth coming. Maybe hiring some due to crew/aircraft ratios increasing.

cubbies4life 02-14-2014 12:06 PM

Any word about the FLOPs Furloughed guys or the interviews that were cancelled?

IFlyFL410 02-14-2014 01:43 PM

They still have 86 FLOPs guys to call and then, if they need to still, they'll call the off-the-street guys.

Packrat 03-10-2014 02:36 PM

Been pretty quiet. What's the latest? Just saw another ad for Flexjet F/Os.

Bueller?

IFlyFL410 03-10-2014 02:38 PM

Nothing new really. Latest info is that 2014 is going to be a transition year with probably not much growth. As of three weeks ago they had interviewed 100 of the 186 FLOPs guys. Other than that, there's really nothing much worth repeating on the hiring front.

Packrat 03-26-2014 02:06 PM

Any idea how many of the 100 interviewed got hired? I'm kind of surprised that things slowed down considering how they were bragging about how many airplanes they were getting just last fall.

Six so far. We do have a bunch of planes on order. The Lear 85 being one of them which is having major delay issues. Management is now saying that 2014 will be mostly a "transition" year, whatever that means. Maybe, hopefully see some off the street hiring later in the year.

dirtysidedown 03-26-2014 02:53 PM

I had phone interview back in November and have not heard anything since then.

bjtdrvr 03-26-2014 06:18 PM

Not to dash hopes but its been announced that eventually the two pilot groups will be merged. How and when is anyones guess. That would eventually mean that the FO furloughed plilots would be brought back. KR has always said that he is always looking for ways to bring them back to work.

Lear45driver 03-27-2014 07:24 AM

I hear that FlexJet is taking on XOJet. Can anyone confirm that?

bjtdrvr 03-27-2014 08:29 AM

Supposedly the deal is complete but no official word as of yet.

bjtdrvr 03-27-2014 08:31 AM

All of the flex jet a/c minus some of the lears re being moved over to the flight options certificate. The company is pushing the union to file for single carrtier status.

For the record this has been a "done deal" since last year, at least that's what the FLOPS and Flex guys have been saying. Not saying it's not possible, likely or inevitable but to say the deal is complete is conjecture. Anyone that knows enough to say it's complete has signed NDA's and would never allude to it.

I wouldn't call it "merging" the lists. Stay tuned and if the rumor mill is correct, you'll see what I mean.

Perhaps an announcement this week in Ricci's quarterly conference call???

justflyin 07-28-2014 07:17 PM

Guess there hasn't been much to report? Seems this thread died on the vine a couple months ago. Any current hiring trends?

Packrat 07-28-2014 08:47 PM

Latest rumor is hiring in Fall 2014.

IFlyFL410 07-29-2014 09:20 AM

It's crazy busy here and all the high ups recognize the need for more pilots. However, I haven't heard where all the FLOPs guys stand as far as jumping ship over here.

Would be interesting to know how many furloughed Options guys have yet to be contacted. I am in that crowd, furloughed as a Beechjet SIC, and have been flying 91 as a Hawker PIC.

IFlyFL410 07-29-2014 10:47 AM

Last I heard 2-3 months ago was 100 of 186 had been called (assuming their contact info was still accurate) with only 5-6 accepting a job offer.

FlexFlops 07-29-2014 03:21 PM

I accepted the job in January this year expecting to go to training by march. Then the lear 60's were parked and guys within the company had to be retrained. That put me on the backburner until maybe this fall if they accept aircraft deliveries. Trying to keep the faith.

Wow, that kinda sucks.
