I think the emailed said something like, hi we know you use to work here. We need a few more pilots so if you would like to work for us again as a new hire fill out an application. First email in years not a hi how u been u still alive...same company...same managment...same pilot group that took a pay raise after they furloughed/terminated us. I would rather work at a regional than that chicken feed outfit...have fun at the hazmat heights holiday inn!!! However there were some good guys on the 45. Overall glad Im not there anymore.

I was fortunate enough to be one of the 8 candidates being interviewed at Flexjet on Friday, and yes, we were all "off-the-street".
Unfortunately, I was not selected for a new-hire slot, but it was a great interview experience! Very laid-back and professional, and I know I was lucky to even get an interview invitation. Best of luck to those who were selected, I know that Flexjet is a wonderful career opportunity! |

I heard that the Flexjet furloughs were called in to reinterview and none of them were offered the job. Can anyone attest to this?

2009 daily rate on the 45 FO: 278, 288, 307, 327, 344, 361.
2013 daily rate on the 45 FO: 309, 317,332, 355, 371, 391. 2009 daily rate on the 45 CA: 398, 418, 467, 491, 511, 518, 538, 554, 571, 582. 2013 daily rate on the 45 CA: 445, 463, 507, 529, 550, 558, 579, 597, 616, 629, 647, 658. I show that as about a 7 to 11 % pay raise depending on seat. By chickenfeed, yes for the amount of work u do. I fly about 80 block hours a month, but still don't work as hard as a flex pilot because of all the extra stuff y'all have to do. Thanks for the good luck you wished me and like I said happy not to be there anymore. Flew with some good guys there on the 45 didn't know the other fleet guys that well. |

Hey Beer,
Sorry to hear about that, but don't let that keep you from updating your resume with them and applying again. On the other hand, it's great news that all the furloughees have been recalled, or bypassed, and that Flex is now interviewing street hires! Hang in there Beer!

2BEER, Sorry to hear you did not make it. If you don't mind my asking, what times do you have and did you have any internal recommendations?
TT: 4800 TPIC: 600 TSIC: 400 Multi: 3,000 I did have an internal recommendation, which as far as I can tell, is how I got an interview. I honestly did not expect a call, at least not for awhile... I was thinking it would be about a year before I heard anything. My background is strictly 91, 135, and a little bit of 91k. The other interviewees had similar backgrounds, except for an Eagle guy. I think several of us had internal recommendations.

If you don't mind me asking, what was the interview and sim ride like?
The process started at 0830. Everybody met in the downstairs lobby at CAE DFW in the Bombardier wing. Heather from HR took us upstairs to the third floor and into a classroom where we all introduced ourselves, picked out a seat, and then reconvened after grabbing some coffee in the break area. There were several people from Flexjet that introduced themselves, and one of them (I think he was one of the Fleet CP's) gave a 10 minute presentation on Flexjet's history, present state, and future goals/plans. They were pretty forthright about the merger, and although there seems to be some uncertainty right now as details get ironed out, everybody seemed genuinely positive about it. After the introductions and the brief presentation, it was pretty much a waiting game. The interviewees all just hung out and told war stories, and they came in and pulled us out in pairs for the sim eval, and one by one for the panel interview. For the sim ride they just used whatever was open at the time. The first 4 flew the 300, the rest of us were in the 60xr. The gentleman running the sim, Patrick, was really laid-back, just as cool as could be. The atmosphere was about relaxed as I think it could ever be, in fact it was fun. The profile was straight-forward. No funny business, no tricks, no gotcha's. Just hand fly, raw data... basic instrument stuff. Started out with aircraft positioned on the runway, normal T/O, runway heading, maintain 3,000'. Vectors to VOR to hold as instructed. Then vectors to an ILS and full stop landing. Next was a T/O with a V1 cut, fly runway heading, climb and maintain 2,000'. Reach level-off, accelerate, clean up, end of sim ride. Took maybe 10 minutes. The panel interview was conducted by an HR rep, a CP, a Training Supervisor, and the VP of Operations. It was all the typical TMAAT questions we've probably all been asked before. It was a relaxed, get-to-know-you type of deal. They're very customer service oriented. They know that if you're there for an interview, you probably fly an airplane just fine. They want to see that you can take care of the clientele, and that you are the type of person they can stand to work with closely for 6 days on the road. There was one technical question (What do you need to see in order to descend from MDA/DH on an approach). Other than that, there some questions like "Why Flexjet?", "What's the worst part about your current job?", "What distinguishes you from the 7 very qualified candidates in the other room?" I was out of there by about 1430. If I have one criticism about their interview process, it's that they might have included lunch... we were all pretty hungry by the end! That aside, it was a nice, laid-back affair. One that I hope to do again sometime. |
Thanks for that 2BEER, just wondering what the process is like from that initial call from Heather to the actual interview, paperwork, etc, how flexible were they on interview dates.
Thanks for any more info. |
