FTE Jerez? Seriously?
A small message to say that FTE Jerez opened a new "cadet" scheme with the company Norwegian. The price: 138400 euros (142000$) ... (it's getting higher)

I know that all are from US but where we go???
Please it's serious? It borders the P2F for me except that your have salary at the end
You pays training today 40000 to 60000 in Europe outside the cadet program.
So you must add 70000 euros to fly at Norvewgian?
When I said that today the business has become a profession for rich it was true?
how do today? When you do the P2F (well I'm obviously against) people are not happy and the price of the cadets rise gently to pay for x years under acceptance of loan.
The profession begins to die? T
Thanks US to stay with the values of the pilots

You're forgetting a few details.
a) it is ab-initio. The training includes your hour building etc.
b) the 138k includes the type rating for 737
c) it all includes VAT
d) it includes accommodation and full board during the whole time
So, before complaining about it, remember that 30k of that is tax. Then you get food and room for the whole year or so, it includes all the test fees (these are thousands $$), and so on.
So no, it's not a P2F scheme.

That's not a P2F, that sounds like a normal price to me. I know places in Europe that do 0-250 fATPL for 130k without any type ratings/housing provided etc.
40-60k is only in Poland, big part is that Poland has no VAT for professional flight training. And that doesn't include housing etc.

In the US you used to pay for your type rating/initial training by making poverty wage the first year. Just another approach to the same issue.

Next step will be paying for the line training. Salaries after paying that type rating are not better than the regionals.
I'm from Spain, lived there 27 years and 99% of my friends paid for it

Yep, Europe is not there - yet.
250hr fATPL means there won't be a shortage for new pilots in Europe so the trend US has seen in the past few years with increasing starting salaries at regionals won't happen anytime soon over there.

It's a real shame. Such a beautiful continent, and jobs are going to hell slowly.
I got my green card almost 5 years ago, and hopefully will become a US citizen later this year. So I'm extremely grateful for this opportunity. But I miss the european culture.
