trouble at first

Crosswid landings were tough but I had the most trouble with power off 180's! It was tough for me to judge the wind and the effects on the A/C. It took a couple extra flights and alittle frustration but after you get it down it becomes second nature.

Rick...I'm not making aviation a career. I just fly for the shear love of flying, as medicine is my career choice. But for those that are...what you mentioned makes only complete sense...to help prepare them for the aircraft they'll be flying later in life. Don't get me wrong, even though I am very much old school, GPS is a very handy backup...and I do not have anything against using that. Safety is important, and GPS can help to increase that.
