Default University flight programs and hours

Hey folks :

I keep seeing comments lie this:

Graduating from an aviation university program will allow you to be hired at a regional airline with just 1000 hours (R-ATP), instead of the normal 1500.

Can someone familiar with the various programs explain this? Does this have anything to do with part 141, or does the university have to be accredited further?

The university has to be approved and you need to complete a bachelor's degree in one of the approved majors with at least 60 credit hours of approved courses to get the 1000hr R-ATP.

The FAA has the list, search their web site. But if they say they are approved, they probably are.

The R-ATP rule is in part 61. The program must be a university with a 141 program, meet done other requirements, and be approved by the FAA for R-ATP eligibility.

it's Part 141 and accredited.
Great program and atmosphere, plus you'll learn to fly in real weather conditions instead of sunshine, FWIW
