Default American Aviation in San Diego

Does anyone have the inside scoop on this place? I know they have a P141 program. Are they legit? Good owner, program, CFI pay, etc.?

Also, I know they offer temp housing. Is the housing clean? Furnished? Are the roommates ok?

Please respond or PM me.

Thanks.

Stay away from them if you can. Poor maintenance! Old beat up AC. If you write something up they will just quickly fix it or not and sign the book. Just bad!!

I did all my flight training with the exception of my CFI's about 12 years ago. I then instructed for them for about 18months. I believe there are new owners now.
The accommodation is O.K. Its an apartment complex fairly close to the airport in El Cajon.
Find the cheapest flight school you can for your training. Nobody gives a rats rear where you got your PPL so don't buy into the fancy schools with their unnecessary uniforms and glass cockpits. You pay for that stuff but your license looks the same wherever you go. The airline you eventually fly for will teach you all that for free.
Also, SOCAL has the best weather for learning how to fly.

Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions.

One thing to keep in mind is the airworthy ness of the airplanes a flight school has on the line. It their a spare plane on the flight line? I know for a fact the AAS has ran down airplanes. They don't have spares and I would guess your flight will be canceled 20% of the time due to MX. You can find other schools that keep the planes up in San Diego.
