CFI Interview this week, any tips?
#1
I am interviewing at a pretty good size flight school here in orlando on thurs and wanted to see if anyone had any good advice. I have to take a written, a regular interview as well as a sim ride...other than brushing up on 61 and 91 any advice?
Thanks!

DL Connex Academy? Been there, done that...didn't get hired. When I did it, there was a written test and interview with H/R and chief CFI. They seem to go out of their way to make it seem like an airline environment which may stress you a little bit. But I would say, be yourself, know your stuff and you should be fine. Take a deep breath!

Most importantly, be yourself (and be personable)! Also remember to stay customer focused during any interview questions... schools know that CFI's are going to build time and move on... however the schools also want to know that those time-builders are also going to do what they need to do in order to keep students (revenue) happy - even after the CFI moves on to bigger things.

I actually have done some free lance instructing, but it is tougher than one would think here in Orlando. I was in a flying club but quit because the airplanes were pretty sketchy. Other than that I have been stuck to doing instruction in customers airplanes. Which is fine, as I have gotten to fly alot of really nice planes, but not steady enough to really make too much of a difference.
Thanks for the pointers!
