Question L3 Airline Academy

I just found out about this flight school out of Sanford, Florida. This is the only "private" flight school that isn't a traditional university of CC that I could find that accepted federal financial aid. This seems too good to be true and just wanted to make sure there aren't any other caveats.

If anyone is or was a student there, please reach out and vouch for the school.

the caveat is you’re paying >100k for flight training

Why would it be >100k? The estimated price is in the low 80s, which I realistically expect to pay more than that, but more than 100k? I hope not.

do you live in the Orlando area? If so, it is “only” 90k. Add rent, living costs, and interest.

Yeah, it's certainly expensive, but it's the only private flight school that I can find that accepts a 529 college fund and federal financial aid. With the 529 fund alone I'd be saving tens of thousands even if the total costs tallied up to 100k.

L3 is a good school however when it gets busy, the wait times for stage checks/FAA checks increase + weather are far too long (that's where you can't beat ATP not sure about other 141s). Expect 18-24 months to finish. Also the guaranteed interview is just a formality, top students with minimal fails have a chance. Rent in Orlando isn't cheap unfortunately so do take all that into consideration! Good luck
