Default Career Advice...

Hey everyone, Just looking for some advice.

Im currently a Commercial Multi/Single with instrument. Im at a block in my time building, I have two options, let me know of the pros and cons of each.

Option 1:
I live in florida now, work at an FBO, have connections to fly a c-402 with an small part 91 company, and fly SIC in a navajo and king air's for a 135. Now I can continue doing those, but the flight hours can vary, I was going to start my CFI/CFII at american flyers in pompano, then instruct while doing the other "gigs". This would probally turn out in less hours then option 2 but I would gain more experience/knowledge.

Option 2:
Is to move back to my home town of marlborough, MA and take a job as a traffic watch pilot, flying about 30 hours per week. I would build more hours with this option, but Probally wouldnt get the experience and knowledge of option 1.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Multi time is good time. If you are over 100 multi but short on total, the second option is probably best. If you are under 100 multi, option 1 will get you there, option 2 won't.

I would take the job that you can build PIC time the fastest. I know guys that did traffic/pipeline and built massive hours over a short time. They then flew freight single engine, upgraded to multi piston and then went on to fly PIC/SIC jets and turboprops.

One will be the clear winner when you break down all the pro's and con's.

traffic watch pilot gig is an awesome deal I hear I would do that.
Be careful about about logging SIC in navajo-many would argue that is not a legal way to log SIC.

Get your CFI/CFII and log tt time IMC time and the occasional multi time. Pipeline patrol is OK, but instructing looks better.

Back in the day when I flew c402s and the like they required only one pilot. I don't know about King Airs. My understanding is that right seat time in a a C402 or Navajo would not count.

If you are the pic the mulit engine job sounds good to me.
