Zero to 1500HR programs in South Florida
I am a 37 year old planning on leaving a career in finance to finally fullfill a dream of being an Airline pilot. I currently live in Miami and I am looking for a good "Zero to Hero" program and I am trying to avoid ATP if I can. I know I got a late jump but I am looking to do this as fast (and as cheaply) as possible, and my goal is to eventually be in the right seat of a major airline by the time I'm 50. Hoping you guys have some goo recommendations for me!

Your timeline is very conservative, you should be there long before your 50th birthday. As far a school in S Florida, I’ll let someone closer to the area and more recent in dealing with flight schools answer your direct question. You mentioned speed and cost as important considerations. I would suggest if you can afford it, do not place a premium on cost if you want to get a quality product in a timely manner. There are several ways to achieve your goals that will be cost affective but none would be considered cheap. If you have the funds, buying your own aircraft could be a very good option that, might save you money. But it also might not, that would depend on factors less related with the cost of flying and more about the business of buying and selling an expensive product and also being lucky enough to not have unexpected costs related to ownership. If the ownership angle doesn’t suit you, look for a quality name brand school with a FAR 141 training program. Get someone locally to vouch for their product and professionalism that will also put you on staff after you earn a flight instructor certificate. Best case would have you at 12 months, plus or minus to get those quals and 18 months to 24 to build the hours necessary to fly for a regional airline. At that point, 3 years or so from start, it’s anyone’s guess where the industry will be.
