If you happen to be a check airman, someone on your certificate team can usually renew you based on “skills and abilities” since you’re regularly evaluating other pilots. Just a thought if you don’t want to actually do a FIRC for whatever reason.

A TCPM/POI has the authority to renew a CFI Certificate for current Instructors/TECs/APD’s working for a 141/142 and 135/121/125/129 operations.

Don’t tell them but I totally am………..everything from grammar and uniform appearance to how they treat the flight attendants and gate agents to even how they interact with service staff at restaurants.
No but thanks for the insight I’m not a check airman……. maybe one day which is partly why I am still trying to keep it current.
