I went to visit there.......they have one instructor, and only one airplane on the field it's a ME Seminole, and it's actually in Aurora, IL which is about 50-60 miles SE of Chicago. You MUST have a car to get to it, as it is not an airport you can get to via public transportation. You could take the Metra train from Chicago to Aurora then pay for a cab......if need be.

ya i knew it was in aurora, id have a car commuting from elgin.. staying with some family. Although i didt know they only had one instructor, do you remember anything about him or her? do you know anything about the training? what times you train at? or do you just study by yourself all day until your flight slot??

The examiner there is not good her name is Leslie and she is not very nice at all. The instructors there change about every 2 months.

Wow, I was actually considering going there myself to get my multi add-on. I wouldn't be going there until next summer but it still doesn't sound at all like I expected.

Leslie Henniger* is great. Did my multi with her in June 2006. Very nice lady, very thorough, extremely professional. They have one Seminole up there, 2000 model, with dual 430s. Instructors are always new to instructing, and will do their best to get you through the checkride.

The airport is about 45 miles west of the loop, and is about 1 hour travel time from O'hare, Midway, and the Loop.
