Default I Have Some Questions Before I Start My Flight Training

1. Do you guys think a local FBO or Flight Instructor will agree to use the Sporty's PPL course syllabus to train with?? because I want to use it with my flight training.

This is the course: http://sportys.com/courses/private.cfm

This is the kit I am buying : http://sportys.com/acb/showdetl.cfm?...D=10157&DID=19

2. Starting out as a student pilot what do you think I should have in my flight bag besides the things included in the kit??

3. I think I have a weak stomach because on takeoff (mostly steep) and descents and ascends (mostly steep) I feel as if my stomach drops, is rising, and/or as if my stomach is going to leave my body. As stupid as that sounds thats what it feels like, I hear Ginger or Ginger Chews work's great, does anyone have personal proof or have my same symptoms?? Do you think I will get over it after a couple of flights??? It really freaks me out when I am up there and it makes me doubt if I want to be a pilot despite wanting to be one since I was 6.

You'll get used to it and don't walk into an instructor's office telling them how to do their job by asking them about books and stuff. Don't waste your money, your instructor will tell you what you need to buy.

Look outside when you're flying. Keeping your eyes on an object in the distance helps avoid seeing small changes and having them mess with your equillibrium. Your body isn't used to the sensations asociated with flight so they'll feel a little wierd at first. As a private pilot 90% of your time should be spent outside.

Nerves/excitement probably have a lot to do with the butterflies. After a couple flights you'll be in good shape.

Before you spend a bunch of money on flight training materials, see what the school uses. If you spend a ton of money at Sportys and the school uses ASA books, you just cost yourself a couple hours of flight training and wasted time while the instructor tries to familiarize him/herself with the material.

I had a student with your same symptoms. He tried everything. I told him about Ginger (my wife uses it when she flies with me) and he used it all through PP training. It worked well and by the time he started an Instrument Rating, he was cured. It's $3-4 for a bottle of 100 at Walmart.

He had the same concerns as you. He wasn't really sure if he could deal with it through all the training. He finished all his ratings and last I heard was on his way to the airlines.

I know lots of people who have overcome motion sickness during training.
