Two questions
I can't seem to find Category B Takeoff Minimums, I suppose they are in the 121 FARS, but I can't find them. Any help?
Next,
What is the moisture characteristics INSIDE of a thunderstorm?
thanks...

with a thunderstorm, it depends on the stage of a thunderstorm. whether it is cumulus mature or dissipating. Generally there will always be rain, and if it is a really high anvil head then there will be hail

another thought on the moisture "characteristic" is that thunderstorms produce SHOWERS as opposed to continuous rain.
Here's what I found on T/O mins, not sure if it answers your question...
Civil airport takeoff minimums. Unless otherwise authorized by the Administrator, no pilot operating an aircraft under parts 121, 125, 129, or 135 of this chapter may take off from a civil airport under IFR unless weather conditions are at or above the weather minimum for IFR takeoff prescribed for that airport under part 97 of this chapter. If takeoff minimums are not prescribed under part 97 of this chapter for a particular airport, the following minimums apply to takeoffs under IFR for aircraft operating under those parts:
(1) For aircraft, other than helicopters, having two engines or less -- 1 statute mile visibility.
(2) For aircraft having more than two engines -- 1/2 statute mile visibility.

That is correct. Unless your company is authorized to take off at lower mins per their operation specifications. We can take off with 600 RVR. Now in order to do that we have to have a take off alternate. But that is a different story. If the runway has its own mins, than we cannot go lower than the mins published on the plate, but never lower than 600 RVR. If you are asking about Part 91 takeoff mins, if I remember right, I think technically there is no minimum. I know for a fact that when operating Part 91, you can shoot an approach when the weather is zero zero, you just can't land.
