Just took the one day prep course and test at ATP in Dallas.... I HIGHLY recommend it! Virtually anyone could walk in with no prior study and pass easily. Granted you will be sitting in a box staring at a computer for 8 hours, but it's well worth the 300 bucks.

I prefer the borrowing the book from a friend (free) and taking a week of studying when I have down time at work and during commercials while watching TV. Works like a champ

I highly recommend using the Sheppardair program. It is relatively inexpensive and they have figured out some really innovative ways to make studying for the ATPw easier. Here is the link.
