Headset recommendations
Hi all, I was looking on Ebay at headsets. I'll start by saying that I flew today with the entry level Sigtronics headset and well... what I want to know is - What models do I definetly want to stay away from! like for example the entry level Sigtronics - don't get me wrong I'm not trying to slam Sigtronics I'm just saying I had to dang near stick the microphone down my throat for it to work!!! So anyhow.... there are some reasonably priced David Clark models on Ebay as well as some brand new Softcomm's with really good price - thoughts, opinions, ideas? Thanks in advance, Jeff

David Clarks will last forever and they are really good at fixing the, if they do break. I have had mine for 6yrs and only recently switched to the Bose X. If you are flying alot get something that is comfortable and you can wear for a long time.

For $350 or so I would recommend Lightspeed XL15. It is a solid ANR headset which will last for years, is comfy and is not very expensive. I have used my XL15s for many hundreds of hours, no complaints. XL20s are about the same thing.

Another headset question - and yes I'm as green as grass haha - on the David Clark's is there a significance to the model number? such as h10-20 vs. h10-13.4 vs. h10-76 thanks, Jeff
PS I ask because it looks like the 76 has a different style plug

depends on how much you wanna spend... if you want a nice solid headset thats not CRAZY expensive, you can never go wrong with a davidclark 10-13.4, its what I use and I love it... if you can shell out the dough, I'd go with a Lightspeed Zulu, I've tried one and they are amazing, ANR, bluetooth, ipod adapter, you cant go wrong, but they're $850.

simply just different models... i haven't looked in awhile, but I'm pretty sure the 10-20's are the most comfortable that DC makes, but not exactly the quietest... some are helo headsets, etc... 10-13.4's are the best.

Would anyone be able to speculate if the Lightspeed 20XLc are worth the extra 40 bucks in comparison to the 15XLc? I see they both have similar features, but with the 20XLc supposedly just having a little more noise reduction.
I'm finding the 15XLc for $335 and the 20XLc for $375. What's $40 bucks in the long run, but I was just curious if anyone had any hands on experience?
Thanks,
BaronPete

I have the Lightspeed 15XLc and I loved it. I think the difference between the 15XLc and the 20XLc is the 20XLc has about 4db more noise cancellation.
I am selling it as well due to my new job. If anyone wants to buy it I will let it go for $225.
