Default headset info

Do any companies have restrictions on what headset is used for any reason? Clark's , Bose , or whatever for whatever reason. I need to buy a new headset and should be applying in the next couple of months but don't to buy something and not be able to use it.

Any recomendations?

Some companies (private, non-airline) might PROVIDE you with headsets, but I'm not aware of any restrictions as to which you decide to bring.

Kind of a personal thing, like sunglasses, hemorrhoid pillow, shoes, etc.

This TSO approved is misleading, Go with what your company OPS manual says.. if you company say TSO approved then so be it if not get what you want as long as it preserve your hearing and your crewmember and atc can understand you...On another note, am I the only one who gets annoyed when the guy sitting next to you keeps the hot mic open all the time then decides to eat doritos.. lol

I used to do that...the first week I was an airline pilot. By now he/she should have learned that you should turn off the hot mic when you're eating or there are long voids or silence.
