Hi stbloc,
I'm wanting to build a large amount of hours somewhere in Florida and was very keen on Air America, having seen their website, prices & spoken to them on the phone. However I'm very concerned now having read the posts on this forum, can you or anyone else elaborate on the maintenance/condition of aircraft there?

Many thanks!

Especially with the owner...who I cannot stand. I just don't feel she should be getting any business after the experience I had.

Constant write-ups for fluctuating tach, etc? So it may have had a worn tach cable (Cessnas have these from time to time...including the ERAU Cessnas)... big deal... low oil pressure ... was that a light or did it actually have low oil pressure? Was it just low on oil?

People that don't fly older aircraft don't understand that these things are normal from time to time and not the end of the world. These aircraft fly thousands and thousands of hours without in-flight problems. It is very education to see what the real cause is of a fluctuating tach, low oil pressure, etc

Also none of these problems are major MX issues, they are little things that happen because the aircraft is a mechanical device in which various forces are applied to. ERAU aircraft have had their fair share of problems too.
