Default Getting the MEI, but where

I will be moving cross country next week and I figured this may be good timing to find a really good place to get my MEI, without too many geographical boundaries. I am moving from Seattle to Chicago. ATP seems to be the quickest and cheapest... just want to see some comparison.

What is a good place to get your MEI in a relatively short span of time that is decently priced and good instruction? I would consider any thing west of the Mississippi.

There's a great place in Tulsa. Got my multi from Boh-Air, great experience, he'll have you in and out quickly, the cost and checkride for your MEI will be a good experience. E-mail and I'll give you the details.

The BEST place to get your MEI is a school which will need to employ an MEI soon. Smaller schools invariably hire their own students and/or ASEL CFI's for MEI jobs.

If you get an MEI at a place which you know cannot employ you, you are missing out on other job opportunities where you could have got a foot in the door by doing some training there.

The MEI is easy to get...the job is the real trick, try to find a job opportunity first.

Definately go to ATP. Cheapest, fastest, QUALITY instruction you can get in my opinion. You won't be sorry. Being a career pilot student there I can vouch for them. You will also get simulator time which will help you get the procedures down before you actually get in the airplane. If you are moving to Chicago, the closest ATP location is Bowling Green, KY.
