Working with foreign students
I've had a lot interesting experiances working with foreign students, mainly Chinese and Japanese. Just wondering if anyone else has advice or experiances to share?

Everytime I fly over the india fix of V3 in Florida... there is always Indian people talking to Orlando approach..very ironic... and as always they are asking permission to go VFR to another airport, followed by some other weird request.
Closer to DAB it seems like only the controllers speak English...

I had a student, who when we were doing pattern work would respond to the tower's calls by nodding his head. The first couple times I responded for him, and told him he needed to push the PTT and respond verbally. When he persisted with his head nodding, I let the tower get on him a bit and told him he needed to nod louder next time. Eventually he figured it out.
