Default Renew CFII

This probably has been asked before, but is there a way to renew your CFII on line. It has been a year since I have set foot in a single engine prop and I am trying to avoid the cost of doing this at an FBO/FSDO.

Just want to stay current in case I lose me yob.

If your CFI cert. is not expired there are many ways to renew on-line. In the past I have used American Flyers just go to www.americanflyers.net select online renewal and there you have it. One time fee for life.

You will need a FSDO if your CFI is expired. They will not charge a fee, but you provide the aircraft. Good luck.

If it's expired (beyond 24 months) you will need to retake a checkride for any rating on your instructor cert...the CFII is usually going to be the easiest.

If it is still current, you can either attend a 2 day (16 hour siminar) or take a 16-hour online class. AF and AOPA offer both, most airline folks opt for the online deal because you can do it in a hotel.
