What is the main difference between Cessna 172S and 172SP?

Some 172S POH comes with NAV III (3). I assume this is G1000. If so, what is NAV I and NAV II ?

THanks!

from my understanding....

The "S" and "SP" are essentially the same model... I believe that the "S" is just a progression of a model after the "R", the SP is just a marketing term for the "S" refered to the extra 20hp, "super performance" along with interior upgrades

Nav II had all the old goodies like the KLN-94 and MFD-550. Nav I was a package without the Autopilot or MFD I believe.

Nothing to add except the above is correct, SP refers to the 180hp and the R is 160 hp. Nav III is G1000, Nav II, fancy round dials and Nav I, basic recent Cessna.

Good and correct answer.

Wheel pants are standard on all the 172s unless otherwise specified.
