i started at the new flight school about a week ago, and i was amazed at how much i was never taught. I was doing a simple cross-country nav log and couldnt fill out half of the blanks. Even worse, i didnt know what half of them were for. this is my flight instructors first pilot job and he is fresh out of flight school. i am very happy with my decision to switch schools. he is very eager to teach and fly. i have already learned more in five hours of flight time than i have in the previouse forty. atleast i made the right decision

I was under the impression it was the 4 C's

Conserve
Climb
Confess
Comply

I can see how cram would work but if you are lost wouldn't you want to minimize fuel burn?
Too bad they don't do DF steers any more, I guess 121.5 will always work.
