Default Scope at new Delta

Ok I have only read what I see on here as far as what is allowed regional jet wise in the new Delta contract.
Correct me if I am wrong but I read it to say that there will be 255 51-76 seat aircraft allowed and of those 255 120 of them can be 76 seat aircraft
If that is true there already is a problem.
Here is the current 76 seat aircraft either delivered or on order
Compass - 36
Mesaba - 36
Pinnacle - 16
Freedom - 14
Comair - 14
Republic - 15? (correct me if I am wrong)
SkyWest - 21
Total = 152

70 Seat aircraft
ASA - 37
Comair - 15
Skywest - 13
Shuttle America - 15?
Total - 80

Total 51-76 = 232

The 76 seat jet total will already be 32 planes over the mark if the limit is 120, is this correct????

I should also emphasize that I am not looking to gain any more regional flying, I would rather get hired at Delta, but I just noticed the number was higher than the number they established.

Freedom doesnt operate 76 seaters for DAL.

Also isnt Republic/CHQ/Shuttle swapping out 170s for 175's?

I guess my main concern isnt 70 seat aircraft, according to the agreement, it allows 120 76 seat aircraft and right now there are 152

I think the 255 was the DAL number prior to the merger. I think you would have to add in the NW Scope number prior to the merger. As I understand it we will take theDAL pre-merger Scope number and add the NW pre-merger Scope number- essentially no change in RJ scope numbers.
I am not totally sure of the exact numbers but am pretty sure we are just adding the Scope numbers for both airlines prior to the merger.

I think Bastian was quoted as saying the new DAL will have nearly 800 RJs!?? What will we control nearly 3/4 of the RJ fleet in the U.S. for one airline? That number is way to high.

But the majority of those will be 50 seaters that the majors want to get rid of. The 255 cap on the 70+ seaters is better than no cap. It should have been cut off at the current number on property but capping it is a start.

Shuttle America has 16 170's dedicated to DAL, Those are scheduled to be swapped out on a 1 for 1 basis with 16 NEW 175's flown by Shuttle, Republic AIRLINES does not fly for DAL, only Airways at this point.

note: the 175's for DAL are configured 64 coach, 12 first class.

At least we, (CAL), do have one bright spot in our contract. Still held the line at 50 seats on any jet aircraft flown.
