Default Iacra

How long does it usually take to receive a new certificate when using the FAA's web based IACRA as opposed to the old-fashioned paper sent in by the DPE? I would have hoped that this would have sped up the system...but it doesn't seem so..I have been waiting since Nov 1.

I've seen it take as little as a month, and as long as 119 days.

Same difference...........In the name of government efficiency, it didn't improve anything hardly at all. It took well into 90+ days before I got my ATP. Actually when I renewed my CFI @ the FSDO it took just as long too. Go figure!

They should take a lesson from another govt agency...the
FCC....Renewed my ham license online recently and got the new certificate in the mail about 4 days later...I was astonished to say the least.....

IACRA doesn't speed anything up. In fact, it slows down the filling out the paper work process. I can whip up an 8710 paper form faster than I can figure out all the IACRA stuff.

If you take a look at this page (on the very top, without clicking anything). You can see from what time they are processing the plastic:
Airmen Certification

Like "We are currently processing permanent Airmen Certificates for temporary certificates that were issued approximately November 10, 2008".
So, I hope to be getting my MEI plastic soon

I think it depends on the time of year it was submitted; my longest wait was about 100 days.

You can call airmen registry and find out.

Here is something interesting.

I passed my comm multi beginning of October then my CFI beginning of December. I was expecting my Comm multi a few months after the checkride and my CFI a few months after that checkride.

Interestingly enough, they both arrived on the same day! I guess when my multi paperwork came up, they just did both my multi and CFI on the same day.
