??? I've done many, many 121 trips into a number of mexican cities. Everything I said was factual based on my experiences.

Not sure what your problem is...but I'm not going to gloss over anything in the interest of PC if that's what this about.

If your experience is below the flight levels, I've never done that in mexico, so maybe it's different down low?

My only problem is the inaccuracy of your statements. I am not looking to spark off a flame war or a sterile debate. If most of your flights to Mexico take you over the Gulf, then I can see you having to call twice. But the same happens with Houston Center. Does that mean you'd have to wake up Houston controllers? I think not.

My experience is well in the upper 40s where radio communications are seldom a problem, it is down low where terrain interferes with radio NAV & COMM. Remote areas are a problem all over the world.
