If you can, you will do fine. If you don't have the drive or attitude to tolerate such things then don't even consider it.

This job was ok at one point but now well
JUNIOR pilots have no life.
I have been with a major for 10 years.
Because of all of the problems
I was AirForce with heavy time and a great track record
I was hired by a major at 35
Worked for a charter for 5 years before that.I am still in the right seat- -will most likely never have the seniority to hold the left for years.
I will leave at 50
I am never home-I'm working 23-26 days a month
We have average 14 hour days-since you can only fly 8 that's sitting aroun an airport for hours-not getting paid.
I am exhaused with short layovers-lack of sleep can kill you.
Job security is a constant threat
Reduction of pay and benefits seems as if it will be permanent.
If you want to fly just because you love it -go for it. But if you want a life.Have a family, stability maybe take a class, go to your family's gatherings, spend Christmas with them-forget it. This is a rough career field when we were paid well- now...I will walk away and never look back

What "major" do you work for? As much as UPS sucks, your airline definately sucks much, much more.

As much as this guy gripes and complains, he doesn't realize how good he has it at UPS.
Do you have the slightest CLUE as to how many people would treasure your position.
Get a life!
If UPS sucks that bad, then quit and let someone else who really wants to fly for a living take it from you.

BTW, it's spelled DEFINITELY not definately. There is a spell checker on the post reply script. Where did you get your education?

I'm 44 and yes I wouldn't mind getting on with a major. As I have posted before, I will be getting my PPL this summer at an FBO, then transfer, if you will to ATP at SUA. From that point I will go thru their 90 day Airline Career Pilot Program ACPP. From that point I hope to instruct for a period of time and then interview with a regional.
At the 3 to 5 year point, evaluate where I am, the company and the industry. Then, I will make the decision to either stay where I am or look for greener pastures, ie FedEx or UPS. Either way, it's all good.
