WARNING WARNING DeLand, FL
DeLand, FL is on the flight school scam radar again; radar contact! Do ya'll remember the flight school that shut down in central Florida called ATA? The same guy that managed that school is the same guy that managed another failed flight school, coincedentially in central Florida, called TAB Express. That flight school shut the doors and screwed their 80 some odd students on June 15, 2005. That same guy is at it again. King Air training, in DeLand, FL (KDED). Their website is www.simchecktraining.com
Potential trainees, go there and lose your money. Period, point blank. I know...I was there. I was one of the screwed. I spoke with them today-it the same people up to their same scheme.

Well someone should make a phone call about these losers. Has anyone contacted the FSDO or BBB?

I was about to post the same thing about this F..school about TAB EXPRES....they want to ROB YOUR MONEY! stay AWAY!!!!!

FWIW, anyone from central Florida knows all about a hard nosed reporter named Tony Pipitone with Local 6. You should contact him to do his own investigation into this new school. He was involved in reporting on the Tab debacle and fraud in 2005, so if there is anything going on here Im betting hes the guy to dig it up.

TAB Express all over again. I just read their website. Even some of the graphics are completely the same! I have personal experience with these crooks, not from a pilot training perspective (although their students used to come to me all the time), but from a business to business perspective. Tony and Bob (the "TAB" of TAB) where two of the shadiest characters I have ever met. Even the City of Deland was looking to revoke their contract as FBO on the Deland Field. Mitch was their chief henchman. After trying to use student money to start their Florida airline, TAB Express, flying old B1900's (they have their old route graphic on the new website!!!), they failed, took everybody's money, and climbed under a rock. It seems they have climbed out again to try to fleece a few more.
