I paid $435/credit hour of my Masters in Aeronautical Science, it should be the same... unless ERAU wants $845/credit hour because it's an MBA. I've sent an e-mail to my academic advisor, I'll let you know next week.

From my academic advisor at ERAU -

"Tuition for the MBA/A for the 2010-11 school year is $515/credit hour through Worldwide Admissions, Advising and Student Affairs. If you attend classes onsite at an ERAU campus, the tuition rate will vary"

How are you enjoying the on line masters? I am trying to decide which school to choose and trying to get some feed back

I can't speak for other programs, but my online Masters in Aeronautical Science (MAS) at ERAU wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. The workload was higher compared to my traditional undergraduate class setting. For grad school, we had weekly assignments, chapters and power points to read, videos to watch and blackboard participation. The most time consuming part was writing the grad papers due at the end of each class. If you can spend about 5-10 hours a week (not including time on the graduate papers), you should be fine. They aren't very firm on assignment deadlines at ERAU, so if you miss as assignment you can catch up in the next week. The key to success is to not fall so far behind that you can't catch up. The biggest pain in the behind for the MAS degree was the Graduate Capstone Project Prep. statistics class.

If you are looking at an undergrad online program, the workload will be a lot lower. Keep in mind that ERAU will grant you 36 credits towards an undergraduate degree in Professional Aeronautics for having a Multi-Commercial certificate with 500 hours dual given or 1000 hours PIC.

Gajre539 - I am not sure about what my plans will be once I get my masters. I am considering the PHD program. The MBA is quite a few more classes and I figure I may just skip it and get the PHD.

Thank you so much for the information. I am glad to hear that you are having a respectable experience at ERAU. I don't think that a masters degree should be too easy or it would loose it's valor. How many credits did you take per semester? Did you go for more than 6? Were you able to finish the degree in less than two years? Sorry for the 20 questions.

I thought about the Phd program, but decided to go with the MBA in Aviation (MBA/A) for now. I figured since I have a graduate degree specializing in Aviation Operations, one in Management would only help. One advantage is that you will not be required to take the GMAT for the MBA/A program, if you have a Masters degree from ERAU. If you decide to get a Masters in Aeronautical Science (MAS), you should be exempt from taking the GRE when you get your Masters in Technical Management (MTM).

The Phd in Aviation program is $930/hour and requires 3 six-day residencies at the main campus. I am considering it as an option after the the MBA when I can pay for classes out of pocket. The cost for the entire program is $55,800 + $3600 residency fees + ~$6000 in books =~ $65,000

I took 3 credits (one class) per semester, which took me 4 years to complete. With an 8-5 desk job, CFI job, ex-wife, young child, girlfriend and studying for my ATP - I couldn't handle more than one class. ERAU recently changed the length of their online classes to 12 weeks instead of 16 weeks. This allows you to pack one more semester in the year (5/year instead of 4/year) and gives you a week off between classes.

Nothing wrong with Everglades University. It's accredited and economical.

Does anyone know if the Master of Aeronautical Science is accredited?
I know the World Wide is through the school but I wasn't sure if the individual program is.
