I hope nobody get a regional job right out of college. The job most of us got right out of school was probably flight instruction. I got hired at Eagle after a year of instruction with only 700 hours. That was too soon. The only reason they even looked at me was because it was in the middle of the hiring boom. By the time you would graduate I would think there would be another boom going on. I think I graduated with about 300 hours but I took a few non-essential flying courses like aerobatics. That class was fun. I have friends I graduated around that are working at ASA, Eagle, Flight Safety, and many many more. Its not really where you learned anymore. It seems to be more or less how good you are multiplied by the number of hours you have. The more hours the better. There are lots of way to build time after college, right now you need to worry about the quality of instruction and school. Have you tried to request a "ride along" during a private course flight? They used to do that when I was there. Just ask.

As far as the education at OU is concerned it is very high quality. In my opinion, I would've liked more briefing time with my instructor. It seemed like we just said "hi" and I was out the door for the preflight. That is really my only complaint. Get active and involved in the aviation organizations there and it will seem like family. Great school, great times. Those are my thoughts.

im in my last year two semesters with OU and i have been very pleased with the training and education. I have gotten all of my ratings there except for my PPL which i got in high school. I think our training stacks up against anyone else in the country. Also its a great school for the "college life". Only complaint would be old arrows and only one multi.

I noticed your signature says you are a frontier ramp agent. How are you doing that while still attending OU?
