I would appreciate any info on ATP's quick ATP rating. I have been at a regional for one year; have not flown a piston plane during this time. I have no time in a seminole. How much time did you guys study? How involved was it? Did the DE have the the green book out asking questions from it? Worth buying a little extra time in the plane so I am a little more familiar?
Thanks

From the examiners we use at my location, none of them ask anything in the Oral Exam guide. They only ask Seminole systems questions, and a few questions of their own. I would recommend giving yourself some time to study the suppliment they give you, maybe only a week or so at the most. Look at the Garmin 430 also. That is the biggest kicker of guys busting. Any questions, just ask.

I did the written part only...after having flown ALL night I spent a LONG ten hour day using their CBT system, took the test and scored high 90's. Got the job done.
In hindsight, I would recomend a good night's sleep first.

It all depends on you really. I get guys who have never flown a small light twin let alone a piston driven aircraft and they have done fine with the 2 day program. Then again I have had a good number of people do the 10 hour program and 15 hour program. The numbers are kind of misleading. You get 8.5/13.5 hours of training and the use of the aircraft for the checkride. But you don't want to go into a checkride wishing you had done the 10 hour program instead of the 2 day. You could even find someone who may rent a small twin and go up for an hour or so and see how you feel in it.

I had never flown a Seminole going into the program (Commercial add-on) and I felt more than comfortible with the systems oral and the flight portion. The only thing that most people are intimidated by is the Garmin 430 GPS.
I would def. say 'go for it.' I personally think it would be worth the money. You are there for just a few days and then you are done - other then taking your time getting it done at an FBO with a P.O.S. twin...
Good luck in whatever you decide to do.
