It is not logged as SIC time, you are an instructor, that is PIC. These guys have their pvt se, ATP wants them to get it done by 55 hours, the pvt program is an 85 hour program. Now the rest of their flight time, 30 hours, is xc time building. What you do with these guys is get them started on instrument training. Have them get out low enroute charts, file a flight plan, put them under the hood, basic instrument stuff.

I got you...Getting them a head start on what to look forward to in the IFR program...

One more question - never mind I'll look it up myself on the website...

Yes, for my private SE checkride. Going next weekend to see Clyde, then after that go to ATP to do my 55-85 hours, and then starting the program after that. I did the Private through ATP also, but they sub that out to "The Flight School" at Briscoe field in Lawrenceville, GA. Everything after the Pvt is at ATP.

Finished Self Paced Private Program

I finished up my 85th hour tonight. I started the self paced program at ATP DFW (Arlington) May 5th. I landed tonight finishing hour 85. I never thought I would have been an 85 hour pilot 3 months ago. I think I did OK stretching it out to 3 months. I was at the airport 4 days a week. I plan on getting the 10 month program sacked in 7 months. I am loving every minute of this. FYI I got my private 7/18 with 49 hours.

congrats man!! I got all my requirements done a little over 2 months after I started. I was at the airport 4 days a week aswell, but this last month has slowed to a snails pace. it's frustrating dealing with pop up thunderstorms and airplanes in maintenance. I have gone from 44 hours to 50 hours without accomplishing much. after my checkride, I will be right around 55 hours, but that's fine as long as I get it done. I was hoping to fly somewhere for the rest of the 55 hours, but it looks like there won't be much extra time left.

If you are doing the 90 day program at ATL, you will be there almost everyday.

I'm doing the self paced at ATP, but will be there about 4 days a week so I can try finish in about 5-7 months.
