Seeking partner for CRJ PC

I consider that pretty underpaid in the grand scheme of things considering I make one bad decision and it could be an instant disaster for the company. Plus I die. Most first officers on the CR7/9 at ASA easily make more than that a month. I'm really sorry to hear that another pilot group bargained for even less. Sounds like the company got the bargain.

Most likely he is a contract Pilot and a contract has come up that requires him to have a current PC. This is very common in the contract world. you make between 10-15k per month while on contract so yes. it would be worth every penny of 3500 bucks to get a contract for 10k a month for 6-12 months. You guys need to lighten up. This guy is just trying to survive in the worst industry anyone has ever heard of.

I actually looked into this for a job in the middle east about 18 months ago. PanAm at MSP was the cheapest I found then. I did do recurrent CRJ training at this facility in Nov 2009, and will probably be back for 6 month recurrent in a week or two.
Fortunately, I now work for an overseas company who will pay for the "upgrade" training, but that's not the norm. Typed, direct hire captains are alive and well in the rest of the world.

Well my post got some interesting responses. I was furloughed from a major airline. Couldn't get a job in the states. Had an international contract job if I got the PC. Glad I did it. The job has paid for my PC many times over already and is now helping my family survive and pay off my student loans. It's a big world out there and you may have to change your way of thinking if you ever need to look for a job outside the US.
