No - never flew the T-34B.
Thought I was going to get a few hours in one prior to flight school when I was stashed with MAG-41 at NAS Dallas. The Base Flight Club had one on the line - but it was down and they said they didn't have enough money from the base to get it fixed :(

Ryan1234 -

Someone posted a job from one of those places recently - I think in the Phoenix area. To compete with the companies already out there - you are going to need something more sporty than T-34B. That school was flying the Extra 300s. Now show me a school flying those L-39s for the same job and I'll consider it!

Sean Carroll and Dale Snodgrass have been working on a TV reality show with Micheal Bay... basically taking some lucky flightsim gamers and having them compete against each other in the Extra 300s (or CJs), then L-39... and then ultimately the F-5... winner walks away with a jet

I personally wouldn't touch a T34 if you paid me. Several years ago there was a rash of incidents with the wings literally coming off, and a good majority of the Navy's remaining T-34c's are G limited (2.5 if memory serves). All kinds of corrosion and fatigue crack issues.

Plus, the thing is an uncomfortable pig.

USMC your story reminds me of so many times staring at a wingtip in the weather. Most recently I was dragging a wingman down the blvd coming out of Pakistan. We got into some goo that was so thick I could barely see the tip of his radome out on my wing. He said the only thing he had to fly form off of was my -9x, couldn't see the jet. And that was for about 45 minutes. At least it was day time.

Don't tell a CFI or LSO this - - but you can only talk about a landing pattern for so long before you must move on! :D

My eyes have usually glazed over like a krispy kreme 10 minutes into the FCLP brief.

It is fun though isn't it? I like seeing the bigger planes coming in for the break - C-130s or P-3s and such.

Speaking of which.....I saw a KC-130 come into the break at MCAS Miramar today. GOOD JOB GUYS! Looked good!

Grumble - your eyes have glazed over because your head fell straight forward into your Krispy Kreme donut during the FCLP brief ;)!
