UND, FIT, or ERAU

As far as listing "real" schools with aviation degrees, and aviation only schools (ERAU), FIT is one of the "real" schools with an aviation department. FIT is primarily an engineering college, and a very good one at that. The school of aeronautics is only a very small percentage of the population. My wife, for instance, graduated from the computer science program. I now refer to her as "sugar momma" since she makes about 2x what I do.

Not that I'm defending ERAU in the slightest, but it is not an aviation-only school, since it offers several engineering and business degrees, as well as a computer science degree. FIT is an overpriced third-tier school, with no ranked programs to its name. It has an acceptance rate of 82%. Compare that to the University of Florida, with eight engineering programs ranked in the top 30 of schools offering a doctorate. The suffix "...Institute of Technology" by no means places FIT in the same league as MIT or CalTech. For ranking, placement, and selectivity, it can't even compete with the better state schools.
The bottom line is there's no reason whatsoever to attend either.

ERAU or any other aero science degree
The only good thing a ERAU aero science degree will get you is a common topic of conversation with your training officer once you join the local PD.

Attitude dictates altitude in many ways. I haven't allowed myself to be drug down by the industry, and as a result have advanced further than many who couldn't "weather the storm" or even the very first breezes of uncertainty or unhappiness.
Is every job out there a dream job? No. But there are plenty of them and certainly having a good attitude and being personable can help land that job.
I can think of several classmates that graduated the same time (as well as others that attended other universities) that have done quite well.
Here are a few examplesof people I know:
Graduated UND 1999 - FedEx FO
Graduated UND 1998 - Air Tran FO
Graduated ERAU 1997 - Air Tran CA
Graduated UND 2000 - NetJets CA
Graduated UND 2000 - PT 91 Gulfstream V FO
Graduated UND 1995 - PT 135 BBJ CA
Graduated ERAU 1999 - PT 135 Lear60 CA
Graduated UND 2001 - PT 135 727 CA
Graduated UND 2001 - PT 91 Challenger 300 CA

I am sorry but I did not intend it to be sarcastic.
