Default FTSI Acquires CAPT

http://www.erau.edu/er/newsmedia/new...2006/capt.html

A warning to all prospective student pilots: Do Not Go Here! FTSI is retaining the incompetent management that failed to deliver their promises to 20% of their customers. Go somewhere else that has over 95% placement rate. Trust me, you do NOT want to take your chances with your time and money with FTSI/CAPT because if you end up on the 20% side of the coin, you are very much screwed.

Even their Executive Director has admitted in this press release that "CAPT was a tremendously effective experiment in proving that an individual could go from zero flight time to the right seat of a commercial jetliner with as little as 225 flight hours," said Martin Schaaf, executive director of CAPT. Well, if 80% placement is their definition of "tremendously effective" you need to ask yourself if that's your cup of tea. Going to FTSI/CAPT is like playing Russian Roulette. Don't be the one that gots the bullet. Put down the gun and don't play their game!

Be warned!

Thanks...I feel the moderator should make your posts about CAPT perm part of the the flight training section. It was a real eye opener.

My experience with FBOs has not been a good one. Had I not been motivated I would have lost a lot of money. I wised up real fast...

Unfortunately, in aviation the buyer has to be on his / her toes. Places like DCA / ERAU count of ignorance and SJS to sucker people from their money...

You're right about the ignorance out there, and that's okay. I feel compelled to warn people off from the lies and deception that CAPT dished out. I really hope people who are actually seriously looking into the CAPT program would instant message me (AIM: FlyingNinjaNY) and ask me questions about the program before they mail CAPT their hard earned money. There are a lot better fast track programs to sign up with if that's your thing and they have been around for many more years than CAPT with a proven track record; unlike CAPT!

Thanks for your support LAfrequentflyer!

I'd be happy to make a post(s) sticky in the forums, or better still how about a short article about your experience and we can post it on the main site (that gets MUCH better Google search performance).

Just PM me and let me know your preference.

You're welcome...Your posts , the ringing endorsement of successful grads, current and past CFIs, and the depressing thread on student loans has convinced me to do the following: finish my military career and get a retirement w/ benefits, and to attend ALLATPs and get the ratings and CFI to build the experience needed for the regionals / 135 job.
