I only thought it was UND, as almost 50%, if not more, QX pilots went to UND, including their CP I believe.

QCappy, can you confirm?

In the last 7 years I would say about 40% of the new hires have been from UND, the rest from CWU, cargo, other 121 carriers (Eagle, mesaba, pinnacle), & the military. I don't have the exact numbers, but it seems about that amount.

Question

Sorry to ask so stupidly and maybe it has been answered before, but what are UND and CWU? Is CWU Central Washington University?

QCappy and everyone else, Thank you so much for the great advice. I dont know how to thank you all more! You have all helped open my eyes in this field and helped me start looking over a broad spectrum of opportunities for college. I'm really liking this CWU and UND direct hire program. Being from seattle, I know several Alaska and Horizon pilots and I have yet to hear bad things about either of them. I would love to fly for either or those or whoever would like to hire me. I'm curious now about how this direct hire program works. I dont understand how they can garuntee anything in an industry as bipolar as the airlines...thanks again

I believe if you keep your marks up throughout the program the direct hire program garuntees you an intervirew with QX, not a job.
