Question ATP single-engine / multi-engine / written ?

Hello all, I meet all of the aeronautical experience requirements for the ATP certificate. I passed the ATP written test 12 months ago. My question is, if I take the ATP single-engine land practical test within the next 12 months, but want or need an ATP multi-engine land certificate in the future will I have to take the ATP written test again? I've looked over the regs and I am unclear about this. Is there someone with experience in this area who could shed some light on this situation? Thank you.

No, you will not have to take the written exam again. If you take the practical test you have an ATP certificate..

Correct, you just complete those requirements in the PTS for the add-on rating (there is a table of those).

I got my single engine ATP in 1976, and my MEL ATP in 1993 as a 747 F/O. No new written, but the company check pilot had trouble finding the right forms.
