Default Checkride Signoff?

When you go a checkride does the DE have to sign your logbook? I just noticed that last year when I did my inst ride, he didn't sign my logbook. Obviously eveything else was done since the FAA sent me my new license. Just wondering if I need the signature in my log book.

No the DPE does not sign your logbook unless you ask him. There is no requirement for him/her to do so since they are not giving dual instruction. They are only there as evaluators.

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering because the DPE for my PVT signed my book.

On another subject, my BFR clock starts from the new rating not the old BFR right? My new rating was more recent than my last BFR.

Yes, a rating ride counts as a Flight Review.

Since your lattest checkride was for an Instrument rating, you are correct that it resets your Flight Review date.
