Doh, didn't read the chart, just assumed

As far as real VFR flying. I would venture to say 95% is done via GPS. So technically they are violating the basic rules, but that's just how it is today.

What's real fun is during a flight review is shut off the GPS and tell them to get you point A to B via their sectional.
