I know Grant Co - Moses Lake, WA(MWH) had a MLS approach, which I heard was also a shuttle alternate site. I can't find the plate on the current release, so it must have been decommissioned. C-130 bases used to have them, but that was when they were part of the training syllabus and installed on the aircraft. I haven't heard much talk about them in the past 10 years. Haven't seen any at deployed sites in the current "hot spots" around the world either. I'm sure it's another casulty due to GPS/WAAS/RNP.

Hah, only places that use a MLS are Space Shuttle alternates huh? Well, according to the 2012 AIM on p528, "The MLS supplements the ILS as the standard landing system in the U.S. for civil aviation..."
Funny. Looks like they may need to edit the wording in this section a little, or take it out completely.
