Default Can I do my ME and ATP @ the same time?

I got the hours (1550hrs), but don't have ME or ATP. Was wondering if I can get 25hrs in a ME and do my ATP and ME check ride at the same time?
Thanks

Sure, you'll get an ATP MEL. Just give yourself enough ME time to be ready.

I take it that you have all of the other times required of an ATP rating?

I have all but 5hrs left on the minimum requirement (25hrs) for ME. All military a/c flown about 12yrs ago, last flight flown 5 yrs ago. Looking to get 4-5hrs on a Cessna 182 to get back into groove and then 5hrs in a ME a/c to get me ready for the check ride.

I got my ATP multi with about 15 hours multi and no previous ME certificate. The DE had to look up the regs, and he verified it with the FSDO that it was legal.

Basically you got the minimum of 15hrs for a Commercial ME add-on, but you did your ATP check-ride at the same time and got them both for the price of one.

Oh I doubt a DPE is going to give you both for the price of one, that would be a chuck of change out of his pocket. Let us know though if it does work out for you that way. I'm sure there are others out there that would love to save that money! Of course you do it with the FSDO and get them both for free.

I think he will hold you to the ATP minimums(+,- altitude/headings) throughout the checkride. Make sure u can meet the ATP standards for all of your M.E. maneuvers.

I only paid for 1 checkride, because that's all I took. I never got a private or commercial ME. I did have to do it to ATP standards, and he also had me do a Vmc demo, which I don't think is technically required for the ATP, but since I hadn't done one on a previous checkride, we did it.
